Biography
I was born in El Paso yards away from the Rio Grande River that splits two countries apart. The physical division is clear while the cultural separation is not. That same incongruity lives in my art feeling part of something while being an outsider. During my youth I had the opportunity to live in many different areas in Mexico, Central America and The United States. After high school I continued to move around in different parts of the United States and traveling abroad. Each location offered a new outlook of the world that I try to implement in my art.
Education has always been important in my life. I have always made an effort to learn as much as I can about as many things as possible. It is important to be well rounded for all the challenges life brings you. While pursuing my art education I moved to Boston to attend school there. The cost of living and school was more then I could afford. At that point I focus on educating my self and realize that the lack of a school is no excuse to continue learning about something you enjoy. My education outside the classroom has been extremely important in molding me along with a formal education. Currently I am a fourth grade bilingual teacher who always gets a new perspective through the eyes of my students.
